Some residents are getting notifications from Duke Energy that their natural gas service will be moving from AEP to Duke. This is not the case. The bottom line for township residents is that nothing will change.
The following statement is from Energy Alliances, the company that is handling utility aggregation for the township:
"Within the last hour we became aware of an issue that will impact some residents in your community on the natural gas aggregation program. While AEP was doing some clean up, unfortunately an operational issue caused a number of accounts to get dropped from the program. This has triggered emails/letters from Duke that people are getting sent back to Duke and away from AEP Energy. AEP Is working on getting this corrected right now and all the impacted accounts should receive a notification that they will be back with AEP in the upcoming days. This should happen in enough time that there is no lapse in service on the aggregation program.
AEP Energy and Energy Alliances apologize for this issue and are working quickly to get it resolved."
