Attention: Symmes Township Residents
"There have been a rash of auto thefts throughout the country and Hamilton County. Symmes Township is not exempt. In fact, Symmes Township residents alone have experienced five auto thefts in the past two months. These crimes are mostly crimes of opportunity and we need to do a better job of denying thieves those opportunities! Please lock your cars when they are not attended and close your garage doors when your cars are inside them. If you have weapons, do not leave them in your cars and always make sure all valuables left in your cars (including change in the center console) are stored away from the view of someone looking in.
Thieves hate to be seen! Have adequate lighting around your house and register any of your video cameras with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office at Camera Registration - Connect Hamilton County so our detectives can request video evidence to help you and your neighbors if something happens in your area.
Remember, if you see something suspicious, you can always let our sheriff's department know at (513) 677-7000 for non-emergency or 911 for emergency situations. If you see something, say something!"
