Fire Department Offers Residents an Opportunity to Serve the Community

Posted on: November 5, 2021

The Loveland Symmes Fire Department (LSFD) Emergency Services Unit (ESU) volunteer program is recruiting new members.

LFSD ESU members are Symmes Township and Loveland community members of all ages with the common goal of helping their neighbors and visitors to our community.  LSFD-ESU is truly "Neighbors Helping Neighbors!"

ESU members work alongside the professional firefighters during training, ride-along time and emergency responses.  ESU members provide support at the scene of emergency calls including structure fires, serious crashes and as needed.

LSFD ESU was founded in 2005 and has built a strong reputation of service and dedication.  The volunteers help their fellow community members in times of need and enjoy a sense of accomplishment, achievement, and pride in the work they do.  You'll learn new skills, make new friends, be part of a team, give back to the community, and make a real difference.

If you commit the time, they can provide:

  • Full training, equipment (at no cost to you), guidance, leadership and ongoing support.
  • A safe, effective and meaningful environment.
  • Community service and emotional fulfillment.  You will absolutely gain a new sense of community and pride as a member of LSFD ESU.
  • Camaraderie with some really good people as part of the LSFD.

If you would like to submit a preliminary interest form, please go to LSFD's website here.

After reviewing your interest form, they will be in contact.  Once your application is reviewed, the prospective members go through an interview process including a background investigation.  During the interview you will be given a complete overview of their operations and different opportunities that you can do to help them in making the organization, and the community, and perhaps your own life, even better!
