Christian Waldschmidt, a Revolutionary War soldier and one of the first settlers to the area, built this historic home in 1804. During the Civil War, the house and surrounding grounds were part of "Camp Dennison" used primarily as a general training center, recruiting depot and hospital post named in honor of Governor William Dennison.  The property is owned today by the Ohio Society Daughters of the American Revolution. They have also restored a smaller fieldstone house for the Camp Dennison Civil War Museum. A Memorial Barn on the property now houses an extensive collection of primitive stone cutting and farm tools as well as a restored Conestoga wagon. Chateau LaRoche is a replica of a historical European castle on the banks of the Little Miami River. Boy Scout Troop Leader Harry Andrews built it over the course of 50 years. He built the castle on two free plots of land that his Scouts obtained by paying for one-year subscriptions to The Cincinnati Enquirer. When Andrews died in 1981 he left the castle to his Boy Scout troop the Knights of the Golden Trail who maintain it to this day. Tours are available. Lake Isabella is a 77-acre park operated by the Great Parks of Hamilton County. It features a 28-acre fishing lake with rowboat rentals and pier, a picnic area, playground and indoor and outdoor dining areas. In the summer, they have grill outs and offer live entertainment. Little Miami Bike Trail

Little Miami Bike Trail

This 70 plus mile trail was built along the right-of-way of the old Little Miami Railroad. Most of the trail runs along a dedicated, car-free corridor providing a great place to ride bikes, roller blade, run or walk. Stop for a treat in one of the small towns, explore nature along the riverbanks of the Little Miami River, or learn about history along the way.

The Little Miami River has been designated as a State and National Scenic River. A series of state and county parks and bike trails have been built along the river and offer plenty of recreational opportunities such as fishing and canoeing. The Little Miami corridor is a great place to experience nature and see a variety of wildlife in its natural habitat.

Dr. Charles Meade, a former president and director of the Hamilton County Fair Board, built this historic home in 1906. The property was used to raise trotting and pacing horses and included a racetrack. The Township purchased the property in 2003 and had a lease with the Cincinnati Horticultural Society to maintain the grounds until 2016.

The Symmes Township Historical Society has restored a historic 1830's two-story log house at Meade Park through a grant from the Ohio Cultural Commission. It opened to the public in April 2012.
