Greetings from the Symmes Park Expansion Committee. We are looking forward to hearing from you as we work on developing the Rozzi property into Symmes’ newest and most exciting park. Our purpose is best explained by our mission statement:
“The Symmes Park Expansion Committee (hereinafter “SPEC”) was established for the primary purpose of gathering information, investigating, evaluating and providing recommendations to the Symmes Township Board of Trustees as to the designing, planning and building of a park at what is known as the Rozzi Property.
This thirteen (13) member committee has a secondary function of evaluating other township park properties in order that community interests are evaluated. That while the Rozzi development process occurs, the other related park facilities compliment the new park.
Finally, this committee serves at the pleasure of the Symmes Township Board of Trustees, has no binding authority and shall act as a liaison to the Board consistent with Resolution PR-0701.”
As part of our work we feel it is important to gather input from a broad range of interested groups and residents. You can help shape the process by providing to us any information that you can about what you or your organization would like to have in a park. We would also like to know the approximate demographics of your organization - numbers, ages, areas of residence. If you are involved in a particular sport - what is the season, what are the needs in terms of practice and game field space, or other space and facilities, parking, etc. If you are not involved in an organized sport please tell us what activities do you find most enjoyable or useful in a park, what would you like more of, what do you find lacking?
If you would like to call and talk, committee members are listed below. We have tried to include all the constituencies that we knew of in this mailing but we may have missed some group or person, please pass this information along to anyone you know who may be interested and encourage them to make contact through this web portal.
