Symmes Dedicates Blong Park
On the ninth anniversary of the tornado that devastated Symmes Township, residents, Township officials, fire and police departments and others gathered to dedicate Blong Memorial Park in memory of all that was lost in the natural disaster.
The event was held on April 9th at the park and featured brief speeches from former Trustee Eric Minamyer, current Trustees and Township Administrator Gerald Beckman, as well as an invocation by the Rev. Ted Kalsbeek. Military personnel were also on hand to raise the Township and American flags at half-staff to honor those lost in the tornado.
The event was taped by the Intercommunity Cable Regulatory Commission and will be played back during the following times:
