Ad Hoc Master Plan Steering Committee
Minutes of Record
January 23, 2008

A meeting of the Ad Hoc Master Plan Steering Committee was held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.  In attendance were:  Brad Vigran, John Goedde, Greg Kessler, Kathy Wagner, Phil Beck and Wendy Moeller from McBride Dale Clarion.

Wendy noted that Deerfield Township has completed the Fields Ertel Road Corridor Study.  Some of the items proposed in the document are stronger building and signage regulations, landscaping and mixed use activity.  It was suggested that we propose similar standards in that part of the Township.  We will incorporate different standards for other areas, though, in order to provide more opportunities for redevelopment of under-utilized properties.  Wendy suggested that we ask an architect to come up with some visual depictions to help determine the best uses.  Kathy suggested Harper's Station and the Committee concurred.  Wendy will contact MSA and notify us when the drawings are completed. 

She then recapped some of the recommendations that are already in the Master Plan.  It was determined that she should add the hiring of a full or part time person to help with redevelopment.  Also a determination was made that a criteria for the acquisition of greenspace would be added for monitoring purposes.

Wendy noted that she would like to see everything compiled into a full document by the next meeting.  However, no meeting date has been set.  She will try to set up something with MSA  and as soon as they can come up with the visual drawings she will set up a meeting.  This should be by early March.  A public hearing will also be scheduled and the information will be included in the spring newsletter in hopes of getting the word out.
