Brush Drop Off

Yardwaste amounts to nine percent of all material entering local landfills. Yardwaste includes leaves, grass clippings, brush, branches, Christmas trees and prunings. There are several easy ways to recycle yardwaste instead of throwing it away.Composting and vermicomposting are good choices but have their drawbacks. A better choice is to get involved in the Yardwaste Dropoff Program; it's easy, responsible and best of all its free for Township residents! The information is as follows:

Guidelines

• Brush and tree branches must be cut into lenghts of four feet or less and must be no large than twelve inches in diameter.
• Brush and tree branches must be bundled. Bundles must not be heavier than fifty pounds.
• Yardwaste must be brought to locations in containers or bags--brown paper bags are preferred.
• Containers and plastic bags will be returned.
• Yardwaste in commercial vehicles or from commercial establishments will not be accepted.
• No large trailers or trucks larger than pickups are allowed.
• No pallets, boards, nails, fencing or wire will be accepted.
• No bricks, stones or soil will be accepted.
• All children must stay inside vehicles.
• Only Symmes Township residents can participate. They must bring a photo ID with their current address.
